Gold Rush with Johnny Cash online slot game
Down somewhere in the depths of the canyon, there’s a cactus in a cowboy hat swinging a pickaxe in the lantern light, convinced that there is gold in the next wall of rock. Johnny Cash has given up robbing and digs for real – almost. Gold Rush with Johnny Cash feels like you’re accompanying him in the mine-shaft: a lot of dust with occasional gold flakes.
Our Test Experience
We played Gold Rush with Johnny Cash for 207 spins at a €1.00 stake on desktop. Free spins triggered naturally at spin 31, and inside the round, Gold Respin fired twice, so the total win from the round was 102x the stake. Another Gold Respin arrived at spin 136, paying 20x the bet. The base game felt quick in the quick spin mode, and something paid out every 2-3 spins, though most wins were 0.2x-0.4x the bet. Our longest dry stretch lasted 9 spins. Our biggest win was that 102x bonus. We finished almost exactly where we started in terms of balance.

Gold Rush with Johnny Cash Theme and First Impressions
Johnny’s next adventure in this slot maintains the cartoon feel of the 2020 original but sets Johnny in a gold mine. The reels are set in the frame of the wooden shaft with the backdrop of a sunny canyon, and the mine cart, a bag full of gold, a lantern, and a pickaxe appear as the top-paying symbols, while a TNT plunger box acts as the Scatter. During the bonus rounds, the scene moves underground – inside the dark mine for the free spins and a purple cave for the Gold Respin.
For comparison, Elvis Frog in Vegas from this same studio relies on neon rather than dust, and Wild West Gold from Pragmatic Play remains above the ground with 3D gunslingers on the saloon street. Gold Rush with Johnny Cash feels lighter than both slots.

How Gold Rush with Johnny Cash Plays – Base Game
The slot uses a 5x3 grid with 25 fixed paylines. Johnny himself represents the Wild symbol, substituting all paying icons to help form winning combinations. Five Wilds or five mine carts pay 20x the stake, and the sack, lantern, and pickaxe pay 5x-8x the bet for five. Royal symbols top out at 2x for five. Coins with values of 1x-20x land during the base game, too, but they don’t pay on their own – six or more trigger the Gold Respin, covered below.
Our session produced wins roughly every 2.5 spins, but 64 of the 82 were smaller than the stake. The maximum base game win came at spin 40, when Wilds stacked across several reels, paying 18.6x.
- With a 1 EUR bet, the paytable looks like this:
| Symbol | 5 Matches | 4 Matches | 3 Matches |
|---|---|---|---|
 | 500x | 100x | 25x |
 | 500x | 100x | 25x |
 | 200x | 50x | 15x |
 | 150x | 40x | 10x |
 | 125x | 30x | 10x |
 | 50x | 10x | 5x |
 | 50x | 10x | 5x |
 | 50x | 10x | 5x |
 | 50x | 10x | 5x |
Bonus Features and Free Spins
Gold Rush with Johnny Cash has two distinct bonuses, and one can activate inside the other.
Gold Respin
When 6+ Coins land during the same spin, the Gold Respin starts. All other symbols then clear from the grid, the Coins lock in place, and six respins start. Coins landing during the round are worth 1x-20x the bet, and each Plus Spin symbol adds another respin. The counter does not reset when a new Coin lands. If a Collect symbol lands, it adds up all Coins on screen. Filling all 15 positions on the grid triggers the 5,000x jackpot on top of the Coin values, and the round ends. Our Gold Respin round that triggered naturally at spin 136 paid 20x.
Free Spins
If three TNT Scatters land on reels 1, 3, and 5, the free spins round begins with 10 spins. The low-paying royal symbols do not land during this bonus. Landing more Scatters during free spins adds more spins. Coins keep landing during free spins, so the Gold Respin can start inside this bonus. That’s what happened during our session: free spins at spin 31 brought two Gold Respin rounds, finishing on 102x the bet.
Bonus Buys
Both bonus rounds are available for purchase:
- Buy Free Spins – 50x the stake
- Buy Respins – 40x the stake
What to Expect When Playing Gold Rush with Johnny Cash Slot
The sessions are mainly shaped by the features, not by the base game.
Win Potential and Volatility
The top prize is 5,624x the stake – the 5,000x jackpot plus the Coins collected in the same Gold Respin round. There’s no published max win probability. The volatility is labelled as very high, and it matched our session: slow bankroll drain during the base game and balance jumps coming from the features. Our free spins paid about double their buy price, while the natural Gold Respin returned half of its own, which fairly depicts how uneven the features can be.
Bet Range and Who It Suits
The betting range is €0.10-€40 per spin. BGaming’s Gold Rush with Johnny Cash suits coin-collect fans who want a second bonus and those who are okay with longer streaks of small returns below the stake.
Mobile Performance
We ran a quick check of this slot on an iPhone in Safari, portrait mode. On mobile, the full paytable stays above the grid the whole time. The two buy buttons are placed side by side under the grid, and five round controls sit along the bottom with a large spin button in the middle. The game is browser-based, so you don’t have to install anything on your device.

| Distinguishing Feature | Gold Respin can trigger inside free spins | Resetting three-respin Coin round with three jackpots | Sticky multiplier Wilds in free spins |
Elvis Frog in Vegas offers a calmer playing experience with its medium-high variance, a classic three-respin Coin round resetting with every new Coin, and three fixed jackpots, though it has the highest minimum bet. Wild West Gold suits players who want everything riding on one free spins round, with sticky Wild multipliers building a path toward the highest max win of the three. Gold Rush with Johnny Cash sits between them, with the lowest entry stake, two cheaper buys and the only bonus here where one feature can trigger inside another.
Verdict – Is Gold Rush with Johnny Cash Slot Worth Playing?
In our testing session of Gold Rush with Johnny Cash, the base game didn’t carry us, producing most wins that were below the stake. But the two-route bonus gives every session a chance to turn around, which exactly happened during our testing: Gold Respin fired twice inside the free spin round, taking us from a slow loss to break-even. This slot is worth playing if you like collecting Coins and want affordable buy-in options.
