How Chicken Rush 2 Plays - Base Game
Chicken Rush 2 base gameplay is as simple as they come, as there are no symbols, with the entire philosophy of the game built around risk progression. You choose the amount you want to bet, and then the volatility level, which defaults to ‘Easy’. We found that using ‘Hardcore’ can be brutal, especially when a car crushed our chicken on the first or second lane multiple times.
As you hit the ‘Play’ button, the chicken then steps into the next available lane, landing on multiplier spots. For example, at ‘Easy’ volatility, the first lane pays 1.05x, the second 1.10x, and the third 1.18x, so if you bet 1.00, lane 1 pays 1.05, lane 2 pays 1.10, lane 3 pays 1.18, and so on. Therefore, the multipliers do not stack.
The four volatility levels are a little like choosing your difficulty level when playing an arcade or console game. Raising the difficulty does not change the bet amount, but it raises the multiplier values on each lane and the max win for each level, while reducing the number of steps on the highway. Part of the fun is also how brutal the gameplay can be.
The chicken can be hit at any point in the crossing, especially if you choose ‘Hardcore’ volatility where getting past lanes 1 and 2 is a mission in itself. Occasionally, a car stops and lets the chicken through, but that doesn’t make your decision-making any easier. For us, the best moments were always two to three steps past the starting point and features like ‘Step Boost’ pushing the chicken to a higher multiplier or landing a ‘Multiplier Boost’ and collecting, which essentially allowed us to take more risk on our next few rounds.
As for weaknesses, there aren’t really many to pick out. The multipliers could be a little higher, but of course every gambler would want the same thing. Also, we think it would be a different game if the ‘Step’ and ‘Multiplier’ Boost features could trigger simultaneously, which could have encouraged us further outside our comfort zone into lanes where these features trigger.
