Gates of Olympus 2500 online slot game
If you’ve ever played any title from the Gates of Olympus series by Pragmatic Play, you have already seen Zeus standing beside those columns near the reels, hurling the lightning at the falling gems. In this new 2500 release, what changes is what Zeus is willing to drop into them. Gates of Olympus 2500 does not feel like a sequel but more like a studio finally cranking up the volume beyond where it had been before.

Theme and First Impressions
The setting has not changed: Gates of Olympus 2500, like the other versions, features clouds, marble columns, a golden platform, and Zeus off to the right with a bolt in his fist, animating between game phases. The studio has introduced one completely new location, a background for the bonus hidden behind gold coins, which decorates a few of the free spins types.
For comparison, the Gates of Olympus 1000 version is a straight repaint running the same engine as its predecessor, and you can feel it from the first spins. Rise of Olympus 1000 by Play’n GO, on the other hand, strips its three gods of their features and keeps them on the screen as decorations.

How Gates of Olympus 2500 Plays – Base Game
This slot uses a 6x5 playing grid without paylines. The only condition for a win to hit is landing 8+ symbols of one kind. They get cleared by the tumble feature, and new symbols get dropped from above. This repeats until no new winning combinations appear.
The 9 regular symbols consist of four high-paying icons with a crown on top, which pays a maximum of 50x the bet for 12+, and five coloured gems with the blue one being the lowest-paying, awarding 0.25x.
With a 1 EUR bet, the paytable looks like this:
| Symbol | 12+ Matches | 10 - 11 Matches | 8 - 9 Matches |
|---|---|---|---|
 | 50.00x | 25.00x | 10.00x |
 | 25.00x | 10.00x | 2.50x |
 | 15.00x | 5.00x | 2.00x |
 | 12.00x | 2.00x | 1.50x |
 | 10.00x | 1.50x | 1.00x |
 | 8.00x | 1.20x | 0.80x |
 | 5.00x | 1.00x | 0.50x |
 | 4.00x | 0.90x | 0.40x |
 | 2.00x | 0.75x | 0.25x |
Bonus Features and Free Spins
The bonus features at Gates of Olympus 2500 layer rather than compete, with a multiplier symbol sitting underneath them all.
Tumble Feature
With every win, the matching combinations get cleared, and new symbols drop until no winning combinations form.
Multiplier Symbols
Multiplier symbols appear randomly on any reel during the base game and free spins alike. These may have one of nineteen values between 2x and 2,500x the bet. As soon as the sequence finishes, all visible multipliers are summed together into one total, which multiplies the whole win on the sequence.
Free Spins
Should 4+ scatter symbols appear on the playing grid, 15 Free Spins get triggered plus a scatter payout of 3x, 5x, or 100x the bet. A wheel then randomly assigns one of four types.
Free Spins 1 and Super Free Spins 1 stick to the old Gates of Olympus series rules, where a multiplier only counts when it lands on a winning spin. Free Spins 2 and Super Free Spins 2 drop that condition, and each multiplier that hits joins a running total, which then applies to each win for the rest of the round. Both Super Free Spin versions guarantee a minimum value of 10x, with 3+ scatters adding 5 spins.
Special Bets
There are 5 Special Bets in Gates of Olympus 2500:
- Ante Bet 1 – 1.25x, doubles your free spins chance
- Ante Bet 2 – 2.75x, enhances the probability of FS by 8x
- Ante Bet 3 – 5.50x, holds the 8x rate while improving your odds of a better free spins type
- Super Spin 1 – 20x, guarantees a multiplier every spin
- Super Spin 2 – 250x, guarantees a multiplier every spin, setting a floor of 25x
Buy Feature
Four buys, each dropping you straight into the 15 free spins.
- Free Spins 1 – 100x, standard free spins
- Free Spins 2 – 250x, any multiplier hit collects
- Super Free Spins 1 – 500x, minimum 10x multiplier
- Super Free Spins 2 – 1,250x, any multiplier collects and minimum 10x
What to Expect When Playing Gates of Olympus 2500
This new entry plays similarly to the rest of Pragmatic Play’s scatter-pays Olympus entries: long runs of small tumbles, with occasional multipliers reframing the session.
Win Potential and Volatility
The maximum win is 25,000x the bet, and its probability is 1 in 1,984,521. The published free spins frequency is 1 in 443.16, and our session of 210 spins didn’t produce a natural FS trigger. However, our testing covered under half an average cycle, so it does not really tell a lot about the slot.
Bet Range and Who It Suits
The betting range is €0.20-€240. This slot suits players already familiar with the engine and looking for more room at the top of it, and for those who accept that the session mostly depends on the bonus round. It’s not the best choice for players looking for quick or cheap feature access.
Mobile Performance
During our testing on an iPhone 16 in portrait orientation, Gates of Olympus 2500 ran smoothly. We did not face any lags or crashes and did not notice any significant difference from the desktop. All icons and controls remained clearly visible, and the game was responsive.

| Min Bet | €0.20 | €0.20 | €0.10 |
| Key Feature | Four free spins types | Single free spins type | Multiplier upgrades |
Among the three, Rise of Olympus 1000 has the highest Max Win, plus Play’n GO’s upgrade system, with multipliers climbing stages during cascades – but there is no buy feature in this game. Gates of Olympus 1000 has the lowest max win and a multiplier ceiling that matches that of Rise of Olympus 1000. The new Gates of Olympus 2500 release is the only one of the three that offers the deep bonus buy menu and the ability to pay for a specific FS type.
Verdict – Is Gates of Olympus 2500 Worth Playing?
The new Free Spins 2 type in Gates of Olympus 2500 is the change Pragmatic Play made to make this release stand out. Removing the need for the multiplier to hit on a winning spin addresses one of the more irritating points in the older Gates games. The weaknesses: the base game is quick yet not rewarding enough – our balance during the testing stayed afloat thanks to one big tumble only. Besides, the max multiplier of 2,500x is very rare, and the best FS type at 1,250x the bet costs more than most players are ready to pay. This slot is best for players who already know how this engine works and want the version where the bonus comes with the fewest conditions attached. Skip it if you haven’t played other entries of the series and want to spend less finding out if this format suits you.
